Credentialed Diabetes Educator ( CDE) Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Practitioner

Annabel has been working in the field of diabetes education and management for the past 33 years. She graduated from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 1980 as a registered nurse, and later completed a graduate degree in diabetes education and management from Deakin University. In 2009, Annabel graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Masters in Nursing and endorsed as a nurse practitioner. Annabel is a CDE and certified insulin pump and CGM trainer.Annabel is actively involved in upskilling healthcare professionals. In 2015, Annabel formed Action Allied Healthcare Pty Ltd to focus on the innovative management of diabetes and related conditions, from 18 clinics located in Newcastle, the Port Stephens, Central Coast and the upper Hunter.

Cheryl Nankivell is a Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator with Diabetes NSW and ACT. She also has clinical practice on the South coast of NSW supporting adults, children, families and communities to live life well with diabetes across all ages and stages of life. Cheryl also is involved in the professional development of students and other health providers. Cheryl feels privileged to be able to care for those navigating diabetes, and support them towards improved health and wellbeing and continues to be inspired by their stories.
