Multicultural Resources

There are a range of multicultural resources designed to help people from non-English speaking backgrounds better understand and manage their diabetes. These include websites, fact sheets and booklets covering a range of topics.

NDSS Multicultural Diabetes Portal

The NDSS multicultural diabetes portal provides a broad range of translated diabetes resources for health professionals and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Resources have been assessed for quality, are reviewed periodically, and many were tested with patients and health professionals during production. Click here to access the portal.

Making Healthy Food Choices

Produced by Diabetes NSW and the NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service, these resources have been developed especially for people from non-English speaking backgrounds. The pictorial guides show photographs and images of hundreds of foods to help you, or a health professional, educate people with diabetes on healthy eating. Each pictorial guide contains foods that are culturally specific and the English translation is written on the same page. Download your copy of Making Healthy Food Choices from the list below:

Your community sharps disposal brochures are available in different languages. Health professionals can bulk order copies (max 50) of the leaflet printed in English, ATSI or in various languages via email safesharps@diabetesnsw.com.au or by calling our contact centre on 1300 342 238.
